Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information AvenDate collects, why, and how it's protected. AvenDate is operated as part of the Aven Ventures family of products.

1. What we collect

• Account details — name, email, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), date of birth, gender, and dating preference.
• Profile content — photos, bio, education, and city, which you choose to share and which becomes visible to other verified members once your profile is approved.
• Verification documents — a government-issued ID and an academic marksheet, transcript, or degree certificate, used solely to confirm your identity and eligibility under our published verification policy.
• Payment references — if you upgrade your plan, we collect your name, email, and the UPI transaction reference (UTR) you submit so a team member can manually confirm payment. We do not collect or store your UPI PIN, bank credentials, or full account numbers — those never pass through AvenDate at all, since payment happens directly in your own UPI app.
• Usage data — likes, passes, matches, and messages, needed to operate the matching and chat features; and basic technical data (IP address, user agent) for security and abuse prevention.

2. How we use it

• To verify your identity and academic eligibility before your profile goes live.
• To operate matching, chat, and plan/quota enforcement.
• To confirm payments and activate the correct plan.
• To send account-related emails (welcome, verification outcome, match notifications, plan status). These are transactional, not marketing.
• To investigate reports of abuse, fraudulent documents, or policy violations.

3. What we don't do

• We never display your ID or academic documents on your public profile or to other members.
• We don't sell your personal data or documents to third parties.
• We don't run ads or share your data with advertisers.

4. Storage and security

Verification documents are stored in a location that is not directly accessible over the web and are served only through an authenticated admin review tool. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and are never stored or logged in plain text. We recommend (and expect our hosting configuration to enforce) HTTPS for all traffic to this site.

5. Data retention

We retain account and verification data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated documents deleted, contact us at the address below — we aim to process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal retention obligations.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act). To exercise these rights, contact privacy@avendate.app.

7. Age requirement

AvenDate is for adults aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Date of birth is verified against your submitted government ID during the verification process.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as AvenDate evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
